Why we have chosen our packaging...

Paper Fibres: recycled or composted.

Our Cardboard boxes are made from a combination of recycled and FSC materials and are made in New Zealand. Once you have finished using the paper fibers, they should either be put in a recycling bin (paper or curbside) or composted.
Hot tip: Paper fibers are a good source of carbon for your home compost bin! Rip the paper fibers into small pieces and make sure to remove any staples, tape, or soft plastic attached before composting.

Soft Plastics: soft plastic recycling.

Where possible, we reuse packaging filler that is sent to us in order to keep your products secure during the shipping process - e.g. bubble wrap, crumpled paper, etc. After we run out, we use Sealed Air AirWrap. These packaging fillers (when compared with low end bubble wrap) reduces material usage by up to 60%.
When you have finished using these types of packaging, we recommend recycling them where possible. There are a few soft plastic recycling bins available at several Countdown, Warehouse, and Huckleberry stores across NZ. Hot tip: Scrunch test. If you scrunch it up into a ball and it doesn’t bounce back, it can’t be recycled!
